Singer Portable reportedly leaps over a gate to evade arrest by the police, who were attempting to apprehend him over an alleged unpaid debt related to his G-Wagon (video footage available).

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended singer Portable on May 14, following a complaint lodged by a car dealer. Allegedly, Portable had purchased a G-Wagon valued at N27 million from the dealer, paying an initial sum of N14 million and driving off with the vehicle, promising to settle the outstanding balance later.

However, upon repeated attempts to contact Portable regarding the remaining payment, the dealer was informed by the singer that the purchased car had defects. Despite the dealer’s request for the car’s return or the settlement of the balance, Portable purportedly declined.

Subsequently, upon receiving the dealer’s petition, the police intervened and arrested Portable. In a bid to evade arrest, the singer reportedly attempted to flee by jumping over his gate. He is presently detained at the state police headquarters, with no surety secured for his potential bail overnight.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, verified the singer’s arrest when reached for comment.
